I know this is 8 months late, but I thought I'd still write about my last trip in South-East Asia as a one-year anniversary since I left Canada for my 4-month exchange adventure!
So the day after my last final exam I had a flight scheduled to Phuket, Thailand and although this trip was supposed to be my strongest motivation to study for finals it turned out to be a stressful and nerve-wracking experience because I had to get a visa to entry Thailand and another one for Vietnam and another visa to be able to re-enter Singapore, but that's a whole different (and sad) story.
If you're not into long posts and reading, here's a video that sums up most of the trip!
Day one: Singapore -> Phuket, Thailand
I chose a fancy hotel stay (thanks to Black Friday deals on Expedia) to start off the trip "right" and not having to worry about security, cleanliness and customer service. Basically just a spoiled girl being super afraid of travelling solo for the first time.

First evening I just stayed by the pool and had dinner, walked a bit and finished some planning for my hostel stays for the rest of the trip. The food was really good too (what a surprise huh :D )
I was surprised to see how many Russians travel to Phuket, even the grocery stores and pharmacies had Russian translations. Not to mention all the tourists on the beach, felt like the old good times when my family used to go to Zatoka, Ukraine for our summer vacation.

Day two: still in Phuket. Went to the beach, tanned a bit, bought fresh mango and went on a guided tour to visit Phuket's landmarks. I was pretty impressed for my first real glimpse of Thailand!

Right before the storm:

Day three: guided trip to Phi Phi Islands! By far my most favorite part of the whole trip! The water was so blue and clean and I had the chance to snorkel and to swim too, I would go back to Phi Phi in a heartbeat.

Day four: travelled from Phuket to Krabi by boat and had a two-hour stop on the Phi Phi islands (happy me!)

During the whole trip I was carrying these two backpacks from one place to another :)

When I arrived to Krabi I only had time to check in, watch the sunset and check the local food market out.
Day five: chill day at the beach enjoying Krabi's silence (the opposite of Phuket in terms of tourists volume).

Day six: another day another boat tour! Off to visiting a bunch of small islands!
Day seven: last day in Thailand :( went to Bangkok and walked all day to see the most I could in less than 24 hours! The city is very polluted but still has a lot of beautiful places, especially the Grand Palace!
The end.
Until the next time magical Thailand!
